Arapahoe County Department of Human Services currently has an opening for a Business Associate in Littleton, Colorado. The Business Associate works at the front desk and performs a variety of clerical support functions for the Community and Child Support Services (CCSS) Division, which includes providing quality customer service to the community.

Duties
Courteously and effectively greets the customers/visitors.

Listens and analyzes the customer's needs.

Accurately records information utilizing the automation system, determine the client appointment time to be set in accordance with program regulations.

Assists customers, colleagues, and outside agencies with information or directions as requested.

Provides customers with referrals for other assistance organizations or programs such as food banks, shelters, child support, and housing.

Receives documents from customers, date stamps, issues official receipt, and ensures that data is delivered appropriately and timely.

Screens the application information the customer provides, accepts applications for assistance and forwards them to the appropriate unit.

Schedules interviews if required by program's rules.

Researches case information in Colorado Benefit Management System (CBMS) for client participation in other programs, prints appropriate screens and places in new client file.

Identifies, sorts, records, and distributes incoming documents, facsimiles, etc. (May require research as necessary to determine the destination.)

Distributes food commodities. Keeps the commodity room organized and stocked and keeps accurate reports of commodity distribution.

Maintains mail from Program Specialists for customers to pick up. Purges unclaimed mail monthly.

Issues new and replacement EBT cards and completes daily reports. Issues bus tokens and gift certificates to customers; records the issuances and maintains accurate monthly reports.

Reassigns cases transferred from other counties to Ongoing Program Specialists.

Pulls cases from other counties per Program Specialists' requests.

Scans all applications and documentation accepted by the front desk into E-Doc's system the same day it is received.

Provides general clerical support such as typing, copying documents, filing, collating information packets for customers.

Provides coverage, as needed for other support service positions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of operating office machinery/equipment.

Knowledge of personal computer software and ability to learn various computer software applications.

Knowledge of basic office procedures and practices.

Knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems.

Knowledge of public assistance programs.

Knowledge of Federal, State, County policies and procedures regarding this position.

Skill in performing accurate typing and data entry.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisor(s), other employees, and clients.

Ability to effectively complete work in a timely manner despite tight deadlines, high volume of work, constant / frequent interruptions and dealing with angry, upset, or frustrated individuals.

Ability to deliver effective customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Ability to research, organize, and prioritize the workload through sound decision and judgment.

Ability to adapt to change.
Requirements

EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of office experience with one (1) year of customer service. Experience may overlap.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job may be sufficient.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, please indicate on your application.

The salary grade listed is the full salary range for the Business Associate I - Front Desk position. Please note that the hiring salary will typically be near the lower end of the pay range listed.
