The Systems and Data Analytics role within Corporate Risk Management – Compliance Monitoring and Testing is responsible for developing enhanced risk monitoring in key consumer compliance risk areas. The Principal meets with business partners to gather requirements; writes code for the reports; tests the code to ensure quality; reviews report for approval; and provides any ongoing support as needed (e.g. report training). The role also requires collaboration with other business units such as Compliance Advisory, Audit, Compliance, Technology and Line of Business including, but not limited to: Cards, Deposits, Personal Loans, Student Loans and Home Equity Loans in sharing best practices.
Develop continuous monitoring solutions for rapid identification of consumer compliance risk occurrences by applying analytic techniques. Develop, test, and implement quantitative solutions (e.g. models, reports, other analytic processes) that leverage structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources
Manage solution development process, which includes: diagnosis of need and the development of a related requirement specification; system development planning; creation and implementation of a test plan; ongoing project oversight during the development phase; and comparison of the solution delivered with the original specifications.
Acts as an intermediary between Business Technology and internal clients. Partner with business process owners and technology teams to implement effective, accurate, and high-value analytic solutions
Analyze large quantities of data to identify risk occurrences through detection of patterns, trends, and exceptions within key business processes
Adhere to applicable documentation and data governance standards to ensure consistent data integrity, appropriate data handling, and process excellence
Explore tools and techniques to ensure the company is using the best analytical tools
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
4+ years of experience working with the business in data analytics or software development
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Project Management, Business or related field. In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in software development lifecycle-collaborating with business and/or Business Technology coding, designing, testing, project management
Coding experience should include SAS, Python, SQL, and/or R; Working knowledge of AWS/Snowflake; Working knowledge of Teradata and/or Hadoop; Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Visio)
Knowledge of US consumer regulations for cards, banking and lending; bank and payment services anti-money laundering/counter terrorist financing regulations; privacy, et al.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Ability to work independently as well as provide guidance to junior team members
Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize, deliver against tight deadlines and follow through on completion of complex, high-profile projects
