Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is a model of supported employment for people living with a mental diagnosis. IPS helps people work at regular jobs of their choosing.
This is a full time, non-exempt position reporting to the IPS Program Manager. This position will office out of Summit, IL with a focus on the surrounding communities. Hours are 9a-5p Monday-Friday, unless noted otherwise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Effective Delivery of Services to Clients:
- Assist participants with long-term employment goals through a collaborative effort to gain a work history, and establish a career profile and employment plan.
- Create resumes and participate in mock interviews with clients.
- Run groups that promote employment skills
- Provide ongoing support to participants
- Discuss and process the participants’ preference for psychiatric disclosure to employers and support the decision of the participant.
Connect With Local Employers:
- Provide support to employers, as agreed upon by program participants, which may include negotiating job accommodations and follow along contacts.
- Provide outreach support to enhance job retention when the need arises.
- Conduct at least six employer contacts weekly to learn about employer hiring needs and to match program participants to appropriate job openings.
- Conduct job development and job search activities directed toward positions individualized to the interests of the participant.
Administrative Duties:
- Utilizes a database to enter guest profiles, assessment documents, and case notes within 24 hours.
- Maintain updated case files
- Meet weekly with IPS Team

- Acts within ethical standards and demonstrates healthy boundaries
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
- Intermediate level of skills in use of Microsoft office components of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Education and Experience
- Bilingual- English/Spanish preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Social Services, or other allied profession preferred
- A work history in mental health service delivery is desirable.
- Vehicle with current insurance required
