How you will impact Ingevity:
The Global Business Manager (GBM) is responsible for executing the global business strategy and strategic thrusts to accomplish Industrial Specialties’ vision of balanced growth in the Agricultural Chemicals market . He/she work s closely with the global business directors, regional di rectors, business development manager, global sales team, technology , and supply chain organization s to ensure the business is meeting the short and long term objectives for sustained and new business capture, customer engagement, product development, innovation, and channel development. They are accountable for working across the global organization to deliver financial results in line with the annual Plan.
Primary Performance Objectives:
Communicate and execute strategy globally through a 12 to 18-month global operating plan – publish monthly updates on progress in meeting key goals and objectives .
Serve as the matrix manager for sales team outside of NAFTA and direct manager for sales team within NAFTA. Establish annual and quarterly objectives for each member of global sales team; hold team accountable for meeting goals .
Cultivate a global team approach with highly engaged team members - build a shared vision for success and ensure each team member understands the role they play to achieve success . Foster a culture that is bold, energetic, ingenious, and genuine.
Drive customer engagement through support & roll out of common process discipline, sales tools, and training. Ensure ongoing d evelop ment of the skills of our global sales team by provide training, tools, and serve as source of expertise for advanced selling skills. Support the rollouts and ensure active ongoing use of new tools including SFDC, key account plans, pre-call planning, and opportunity pipeline.
Form multi-level contacts across key customers and ensure key account plans are in place and being executed. Put in place global key account managers for strategic multinational customers .
Gather and relay market & competitive intelligence to global commercial team to keep them informed of changes occurring in other regions. Establish & communicate pricing strategies to capture full value of Ingevity’s product offerings.
Report internally on a t imely basis of competitive activity and variances from forecast (in detail, changes, negative or positive, in volume and price); maintain accurate forecast in OMP .
Build & advance pipeline of opportunities for growth.
Help identify potential acquisition targets. Manage a lliance and p artnership relationships.
Serve as link to technology team to make advancements in product innovation, quality, or other parameters that are meaningful to customers . Work in concert with global business directors to prioritize i2V and TWR activities.
Ensure longer term new product blueprinting activities and market assessments are occurring within business to uncover customer/market needs .
Lead and influence the direction of customer contracts ; ensure the proper processes are followed.

Prolific builder of cross functional teams across sales, finance, supply chain, customer service , and technology
Masterful communicator and change agent
Strategic-minded, ability to analyze markets, competitors, emerging trends
Strong grasp of chemistry and technology. College degree in Science, agricultural specialization is a plus. Business and financial acumen to drive profitable growth
Minimum of 15 years’ commercial management experience in the agricultural chemical industry with relevant market & technical knowledge preferred
50-70% domestic and international t ravel to key regions is required to advance the business strategy with the regional teams
Quick to build t rust and r apport with key customers and internal stakeholders
