We are currently seeking a Teacher for our Residential Inpatient Treatment program. Candidates must have a strong desire to work with a team of committed staff to create a safe and fun place for our students to learn and heal.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide direct and indirect instructional support to residents / students in a positive environment
- Teach socially acceptable behavior, as determined by the residents' / students’ individualized education programs (IEPs) by employing techniques in an overall positive behavioral support system
- Modify the general education curriculum for residents / students with emotional disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides residents / students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all residents / students
- Direct paraprofessional staff for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students
- New employees will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, subject to potential accommodation as required by law or otherwise permitted by the Company.

- Impulse Issues
- Mild Autistic Traits
- Mild Intellectual Disabilities
- Mood Disorders
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder Truancy and Other School Behavioral Issues
- Trauma Symptoms
Qualifications/Skills:
- Licensed by the VA Department of Education required in the following: Content Teachers, Special Education General Curriculum or Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, Specific Learning Disability, Autism, Other Health Impaired or Speech Language Impairment
- Provisonal License is acceptable
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred
- Ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide classroom instruction and engage adolescents 11 to 17 years of age
- Must have a valid Driver’s license in good standing
- Proficient with Windows, Outlook, internet research, MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Certified or ability to become certified in CPR/1st Aide/AED & Handle With Care
