Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Area Administration, this position provides DHS fiscal expertise, program and administrative support to local departments of human services, social services, community programs agencies and other providers of Department programs and services as a member of the area administration team. This position provides local county human/social service expertise to DHS. This position supports local program implementation and monitors state contracted programs in long term care, adult protective services, substance abuse, mental health, developmental disabilities, child and family services, and income maintenance, coordinating Department program resources to assure effective high-quality delivery of human services at the local level. This position provides administrative consultation in quality improvement activities, compliance with performance and outcome standards and the implementation of state initiatives and policies to assure that services of quality level are integrated, available, accessible and efficiently delivered to vulnerable children, adults and families. This position will require periodic travel throughout the state.

A minimally qualified applicant will have:
Excellent communication skills.
Experience building constructive working relationships with clients/customers, other work units, community organizations and others to meet mutual goals and objectives.
Experience working with a human services program, such as mental health, substance abuse, income maintenance, long term care, adult protective services, etc.
Experience coordinating or leading fiscal management activities such as: reviewing allocations, monitoring expenditures, maintaining fiscal reports, auditing, contract and/or program administration, financial or billing specialist functions, etc.
Experience working effectively on a team and independently.
Ability to travel periodically within the state.
A well-qualified applicant will also have:
Experience providing training, technical assistance, and/or guidance to stakeholders, including tasks such as formal technical assistance or training, one on one assistance or mentorship (in person, telephone and/or email).
Experience with public speaking and presenting information to groups.
