ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY (EH&S) SPECIALIST
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist role is a great personal development opportunity for someone who is interested in becoming our next Employee Owner! Bring your own background and experience to the Operations team and make this role your own!
As the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist you will lead the execution of strategic initiatives to develop, deploy and continuously improve EHS performance of the Kreg facilities. In this position you will champion a culture that is proactive, accountable, engaged and sustains a business where zero safety and environment incidents is possible.
What You'll Do:
Safety Leadership: Embed safety as a cultural element at Kreg Tool by providing visible safety leadership as well as develop, implement and champion proactive safety management systems. Drive awareness and accountability for safety performance through all levels of the organization. Assure compliance to internal and external requirements, manage risk and leverage opportunities and best practices regarding safety and environment. Collaborates with human resources on worker’s compensation management.
Continuous Improvement: Coordinate and monitor behavioral-based safety systems, industrial hygiene, ergonomic programs, risk assessments, fire safety and corrective action to prevent personal injury and property loss. Provide new ideas and methods to improve safety processes. Engage stakeholders to develop a culture of continuously improving performance. Communication: Communicate and train effectively, all stakeholders, in the development and implementation of safety programs. Champion stakeholder engagement and lead the Safety Committee(s.)
Reporting and Measuring: Manage the EH&S recordkeeping requirements and prepare and organize EH&S files for audits. Work collaboratively with operations to develop sustainable EH&S programs and processes. Manage change effectively and implement strategies and tactics identified in reviews/audits, permit processes or corporate initiatives. Plan, prepare and present annual EH&S plans, goals, objectives and results. Ensure the business is current with all regulatory requirements. Manage the EH&S program up to audit standards. Develop metrics to drive understanding of key issues/opportunities across the organization.

What Experience and Education You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in technical environment or safety area (Safety, Manufacturing, Environmental, Ergonomics, Engineering) or equivalent experience required
4 years’ experience in a EH&S or equivalent role. Experience in manufacturing preferred.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment required
Strong communication, presentation and training skills to interact with team members at all levels of the organization required
Solid knowledge of state and federal regulations associated with EH&S required
Demonstrated ability to drive a safety culture required
Certification from a nationally recognized safety organization preferred
Must be available for call in off typical schedule in emergency situations
