- Certified Management Accountant
Penn State Greater Allegheny invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor of Accounting, (multi-year appointment, 36 weeks) to begin January 2019, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Teach eight courses (12 credits per semester) annually using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. Courses may include Financial and Managerial Accounting for Decision Making, Auditing, Managerial Accounting: Economic Perspective, Principles of Taxation, and Intermediate Financial Accounting I and II. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed.
Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), accounting, or related area of business plus professional certification in Accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA). Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred, as is industry experience.
Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. This residential campus is located southeast of Pittsburgh in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
