The Regional Bridge Practice Lead is responsible for leading growth of the practice and ensuring that technical capabilities and processes align and support quality standards for the delivery of services. The Regional Bridge Practice Lead is responsible for maintaining existing client relationships, project management, generating additional opportunities with existing clients, and developing new clients. Additionally, he/ she is responsible for supporting strategic pursuits as they may occur within the national portfolio.

Responsible for active coordination with Regional Director (RD), Office Executives (OE), PMs and the National Practice Lead (NPL) to ensure technical capabilities and processes align and support quality standards for the delivery of services.
Leads the development of capabilities to enable Bridge Practice growth throughout the region and identifies additional capabilities to support new markets and new clients.
Supports the development of strategic pursuits within the national portfolio
Partners with Office Executives to infuse and grow regional and local capabilities.
Assists RD and OEs, NPL and RPLs in the pursuit of new business opportunities that require national and/or regional technical capabilities focused in support of the local office pursuit, including active client engagement and leading major pursuits.
Accountable for market metrics including, but not limited to: New Work Added (year over year growth) – both Regional and National in respective practice; Regional Net Revenue; Regional Practice Utilization (including personal target); and Client satisfaction and client engagement.
Responsible for project/task management including developing Project Status Reports (PSR), Monthly Progress Reports and Costs-to-Complete on projects under your responsibility; reviewing PSR of all projects/tasks being run by your Technical Managers; submitting invoices to the client on time; and managing/leading your assigned reports.
Other duties involve individually/collectively peforming the following: Developing and implementing winning proposals/ brainstorming/ developing outlines; Supporting the production and technical review of proposals; Writing portions of proposals, including providing technical bridge-specific input; Developing man-hour estimates; Developing schedules; Generating, gathering and communicating business development opportunities in the Great Lakes Region; Evaluating opportunities and providing Go/No Go recommendations; Representing Michael Baker at technical and trade conferences, including writing and presenting technical papers; Building, establishing and nurturing relationships with key client contacts including Department of Transportation (DOT) bridge engineers and other client staff; Providing and encouraging training and professional development for bridge staff in the region. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering specialization or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
Registration as a Professional Engineer is required.
15+ years of related experience and must have a structural bridge background. Additional experience managing transportation projects/programs.
Microsoft Office and experience with and understanding of AASHTO LRFD design Experience with complex structural analysis software including STAAD, LARSA, CSI Bridge, and Bentley MicroStation V8 software a plus.
Understanding of the DB process and ability to serve as Design Manager on key projects.
Ability to review project technical work and provide direction and guidance to project personnel to resolve problems and ensure design and quality review procedures are being implemented; ability to perform technical analyses, calculations and other design related tasks as needed.
Ability to perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
