We are looking for individuals who have a compassion for gardening and would like some seasonal work tending gardens. Someone who is interested in learning more about organic gardening techniques and sustainable practices.
Our organic garden are located at the Villa St. Joseph located on St. Joseph Ridge, eleven miles east of La Crosse on Highway 33. The gardens not only produce abundant, high-quality fruits, vegetables and herbs but they also serve as educational models in the community.
You must be able to work in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks. You must also be able to work quickly, follow instructions, work with others, and pay attention to details.
You would:
· Assist with garden weeding, field clean up, mulching, row covers and other tasks around the garden, greenhouse and orchard as needed
· Harvest a large variety of mixed vegetables and fruits
· Assist with washing, culling and packing produce as needed
This part-time position pays $15.00/hour and requires 10-19 hours per week (with the possibility of more depending on availability). Schedule is flexible and can be adjusted during the semester as it relates to school. The position starts now and works through November.
