Job Duties: Under general supervision, uses knowledge of concepts related to respiratory care to evaluate and recommend appropriate treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary compromise. Demonstrates competency in setting up, operating, delivering, and discontinuing medical gas therapy, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, hyperinflation therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, emergency care/resuscitation, and airway management to patients with cardiopulmonary complications. Builds relationships with other members of the healthcare team and participates in the realization of each patient's multidisciplinary plan of care. Other duties assigned.
Part Time (36 hours)
Every other weekend
High school diploma or equivalent. After July 1, 1998 graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Council For The Accreditation Of Respiratory Care Education (COARC).
Certified Respiratory Therapist (C.R.T.) Required. Maryland State License Required. CPR Certification and B.L.S. required. Effective 7/1/2014, Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) required of all new hires. All credentials must be maintained with active status. A.C.L.S. preferred.
Requires completion of a C.O.A.R.C. accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Works in patient care areas where there are no physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, temperature and the like
