Quality Engineer, Senior

Key Role:
Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment, conduct quality assurance tests, and perform statistical analysis. Facilitate interpersonal relationship building and customer interfacing and maintain responsibility for implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions. Ensure the quality of design through participation in various design reviews, identify and communicate value-added process improvements for projects, and assist with the execution of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) reduction. Comply with GSFC’s Quality Management System by implementing GPRs, PGs, and WIs and resolve problems found during the Assembly, Integration, and Acceptance Test and Launch. Assure documented SMA program was implemented and deficiencies and adverse trends are and were identified and corrected. Maintain technical proficiency using identified best practices, procedures, training, and education and practice and comply with applicable safety and occupational health standards, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience with quality engineering
  • Experience with test and evaluation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS9100 preferred
