Description
This position is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of our existing network infrastructure. The Network Administrator will analyze, troubleshoot and provide technical support for data and voice communication networks as part of the Infrastructure Team within the Information Systems department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyze and resolve technical problems for established data and voice networks.
Consult with Network Engineer and vendors to resolve complex network problems.
Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
Assists research, implementation, and documentation of infrastructure upgrades and projects.
Partner with team members to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being accessible by the network.
Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Knowledge of common network related protocols and terminology.
Knowledge of Cisco network equipment and utilities.
Familiar with workstations, VoIP phones, and servers operating within a corporate networking environment.
Ability to troubleshoot incidents throughout all network layers.
Ability to develop and write detailed supporting documentation.
Knowledge of Voice over IP networks.
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Possess exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbal.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Two or more years supporting voice or data networks.
Industry certification preferred (CCNA, CCENT, CompTIA Network+).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (any specific physical attributes or limiting factors to be accounted for):

Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards; substantial time is spent working on a computer.
