Linux Academy is seeking a inventive Sales Engineer to support our team and the thousands of students around the world who learn through us and our cloud technology. Our mission is to provide advanced training tools that increase skills and encourage critical thinking for advanced IT professionals. The Sales Engineer plays an integral role in promoting the Linux Academy brand and our products and content to our prospects and customers. This role uses a deep knowledge of our platform features and benefits, as well as our competitor’s products to assist the sales team in customized demos, technical discussions and moving prospective customers through our sales process.
Responsibilities
Conducts compelling product demos that are specific to the prospect’s needs, goals and unique scenario.
Demonstrates a high level of product expertise and skillfully answers product related questions during product evaluation, and demonstrates the product in a highly personalized/relevant manner for the prospect.
Provides prospects with guidance on e-learning technology best practices.
Supports the sales team in preparing custom quotes or pricing when needed, based on specific use cases.
Engages in discussions with prospects regarding the competitive landscape, drawing on knowledge of competitive differentiation and positioning.
In unusual or new use cases, acts as the technical project manager/liaison for coordinating LA resources, salesperson and prospect, and working with our internal technical resources to ascertain feasibility and fit from a technical perspective.
Works with the sales team and prospect to help determine if our product the right fit for the prospect’s needs.
Strategizes with our sales representatives to facilitate any step necessary to help close the sale.
Develops, demonstrates, and trains sales team on demo techniques, providing guidelines, scripts and other resources to assist in the advancement of demo skills of the entire sales team.
Demonstrates and trains sales team members on new product features and how to successfully position those features for maximum impact.
Manages multiple projects on tight deadlines without compromising quality and delivers work on time and in scope.
Keeps up-to-date on current research and technology in the industry and finds ways to apply it to demos and other web-based presentations such as webinars.
The ideal candidate
Has 3+ years in a sales engineer (or similar) role
Is used to a SaaS or technically-oriented environment
Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
Has impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Is highly self-motivated and self-directed
Has the ability to work closely and collaborate with a senior management team
Can work in the US without Sponsorship
Can work in the main office located in Keller, TX
Is ok with periodic weekend or evening work which is expected but not frequent
