*Who you’ll be working with:

  • Directly report to the Operations Manager
  • Supervise approximately 50 production associates
  • Maintenance team

How you’ll contribute to the team:

  • Lead your team by coordinating production scheduling, keeping safety as top priority, quality understood, and team members engaged and prepared to operate efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to keep the manufacturing line running smoothly.
  • Provide creative leadership in improving operating efficiencies and trouble shooting of down equipment and process problems.
  • Efficiently utilize people, responsibilities, cross-training and schedules to prevent unscheduled downtime.
  • Regularly hold team to keep everyone up-to-date and focused on safety.
  • Assist Safety Focus Teams as needed with accident investigations, near miss analyses and ideas on how to continuously improve safety.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager and Plant Manager any people or performance problems/concerns.
  • Prepares production reports and data for management.
  • Provide performance feedback and advocate training for employees.
  • Coordinate improvements activities with other departments.
  • May occasionally need to temporarily fill-in on crews when short-handed to fulfill production requirements.
  • Occasional travel for conferences, vendor meetings or similar activities may be needed (< 10%).

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 3+ years manufacturing experience with 2+ years in a leadership or leadership support role
  • Continuous process type manufacturing experience and mindset
  • Experience in cost reduction, production efficiency improvements and continuous improvement activities are also very desirable such as Six Sigma, 5S, TPM, SMED and Standard Work
  • Shift flexibility is essential with rotating schedules required

We’ll be excited if you have:

  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experienced with LEAN manufacturing practices
  • Past experience supervising others

Salary: $57,750.00 to $80,000.00 /year
