The Boeing Company is seeking entry level Structures & Payloads Design Engineer candidates.

Selected candidates will support multiple commercial and government programs working various 702 HP, MP and SP satellite product lines.
Candidates will work with one or more product domain areas: primary structures, redeployable structures, antennas, reflectors and feeds, propulsion, wiring harness, batteries, solar arrays, mechanisms, blankets, payload layout.
Candidates will perform preliminary through detailed design releasing 2D drawings and 3D models and able to perform preliminary sizing analyses (strength, stiffness).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in basic information search or development of a single aspect of a specific functional and physical requirements by reviewing previous designs/lessons learned, regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and/or contracts in order to support proposals, studies, and/or produce higher quality and more efficient detail designs.
Assists in the preparation of preliminary design with layouts, lofts, sketches, preliminary strength analysis to support trade studies, develop structural technology, testing requirements, materials, processes, and tools, define interfaces.
Actively seeks learning opportunities, participates in training, and studies Boeing processes and procedures to increase personal knowledge and understanding of project management.
Prepares and documents designs using accepted design practices to meet requirements and objectives in support of product certification and delivery, with direction.
Under direct guidance, supports the evaluation and resolution of production and service issues.
Assists in refining the design configuration by following regulatory and company approved processes and procedures.
Supports management of the engineering project by providing status and following the project plan.

This position requires an active clearance level U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
Ability to work conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and Model Based Definition deliverables.
Ability to do preliminary stress, thermal and structural dynamics analysis for sizing, strength and stiffness considerations.
Experience with aerospace structural design.
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working both metallic and composite parts and assemblies.
Experience with PTC production codes including Creo, Windchill, Creo View is a plus.
Experience with product data management tools such as TeamCenter are a plus.

Typical Education & Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
