We are seeking a Section Supervisor for the Secure Space and Infrastructure Management Section of the Program Security Group to help us maintain secure facility compliance across a vast array of SAPFs/SCIFs and to create a vision for a best pratice posture for the Lab's growing classified meeting facilities requirements.
As a Section Supervisor for Secure Space and Infrastructure Management, you will...
Primarily manage subject matter experts supporting the APLs Sectors and Mission Areas by providing vision, planning, and execution of facility management to include, but not limited to physical security compliance, conference facilities material condition, andappropriate coordination for IT services.
Supervise the Visitor Control functions, Facility Coordinators and the VTC Manager on technical facility arrangements including the development of capabilities to support the hosting of internal and external customers, secure meetings, conferences, and VTC's.
Develop and mentor staff at the associate professional and senior levels to aid in the achievement of their desired career goals and objectives.
Lead the standardization and implementation of physical security plans/procedures that are applicable to all Laboratory Special Security Areas (SSAs). Ensure facilities and networks comply with contractual requirements by teaming with the CSSO, ISSM, ISSOs, CPSOs, SSRs, and SECD/ZPG leadership.
Engage PMs in interpreting, applying and complying with federal security regulations and directives, and identifying approaches to meet program facility needs. Manage staff to ensure appropriate accreditations are maintained and updated for designated facilities and systems.
Manage and coordinate physical and technical security actions and procedures according to applicable security practices and manuals. Formulate reports and analyze data to provide informed recommendations on resourcing and scheduling to meet deliverables.
Oversee physical security annual self-inspections of SSAs. Oversee interactions with APLs Facility Management Department on planning, design, and project management of special secure area renovations and new construction. Provide Operations/Resource Management on utilization and tracking of SSAs. Manage the Capital Construction Budget of approximately $1.5M annually.
Establish working relationship with government security points of contact. Engage within designated Departments, Business Areas, and Sector points of contact on SSAs current and projected needs. Participate in government-industry working groups; attend government-sponsored symposia as required. Coordinate with government Industrial Security Representatives and Laboratory Security Professional counterparts.
Conduct regular staff coaching. Initiate section meetings as needed. Mentor staff ranging from Associate I to Senior II. Develop career plans in consultation with group management. Participate in group leadership team meetings weekly, and develop monthly section status reports for that team.
Develop/implement section vision in concurrence with broader visions for both Group and Department. Review resumes, interview candidates. Recruit and train new staff members in alignment with current Section competencies and emerging tasking.
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you possess:
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Construction Management, Network Security or a similar field.
At least 3 years experience working in a leadership type role with proven ability to develop and mentor staff at various levels.
Working knowledge of government special construction standards (i.e. Intelligence Community Directives) and other federal security directives.
Ability to develop and execute physical security, network, and communications policy, plans and procedures.
Proficient planning/organizational/communications skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels. Demonstrated managerial and leadership abilities in a dynamic environment.
An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you possess:
A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Network Security, or a similar field.
At least 10 years direct experience working in a supervisory capacity. Understanding of DoD organizational structures.
Experience working in an organization with reporting responsibilities to multiple sponsors/authorities. In depth technical infrastructure experience supporting federal government customers and secured facilities
