We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to support our fast growing packaging machine manufacturing company in the U.S.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing high quality service and customer support during field visits, assembling, aligning and installing equipment, performing routine maintenance, and assisting in establishing preventive maintenance schedules. You will use your strong technical background to tune and troubleshoot equipment for proper operation, and determine the tools and equipment required to perform the scope of the job.
Your analytical skills and independent judgement will be used in resolving technical issues in coordination with our automation engineers.
Responsibilities:
- In this role, you will be a hands-on technician and will be the primary support to production in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing equipment downtime to ensure maximum output.
- You will work closely with Production and Engineering to monitor equipment status and performance.
- You will be proactive in addressing problems using the appropriate troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- You will carefully document all repairs and the appropriate adjustments made.
- In addition, you will assess the equipment’s performance and repair history and work with engineers to plan a preventative maintenance schedule as well as work on equipment upgrades as appropriate.
- You will be training operators and maintenance teams on new equipment.
- You will be working closely with our Design department and Service department.
- Reporting to our Field Service Manager.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years experience as a Field Service Engineer.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Have basic knowledge working with MS Office, Automation Software.
- Must have solid understanding of interpreting manuals and schematics in electricity and have some knowledge in mechanical alignment.
- Must have experience working with pneumatics actuators and cylinders.
- Basic usage of hand tools and the ability to use multimeters to trouble shoot equipment problems.
- Previous work experience in a Manufacturing environment / Packaging is a plus; ability to troubleshoot repair equipment timely under pressure situations.
- This Job requires up to 90% travelling time in US/Canada/ sometimes more rarely to Mexico and to our Facilities in France.
- $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2yr Associate or 4yr Bachelor degree preferred
- French or Spanish language skills a plus
