Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Fire Protection Specialist opportunity for our customer in Richland, WA to support the Hanford Site Tank Farms.

Work Location/Potential Access: The specific work location(s) for the performance of this work is 2750E/200E

DESCRIPTION OF WORK – SPECIFIC

Fire Suppression/Fire Alarm Systems Support and Oversight: Review installed suppression systems for compliance with the requirements of the Code of Record and engineer drawings. (This includes field walk downs during construction.). Fire Alarm System Support and Oversight: Review installed Fire Alarm systems for compliance with the requirements of the Code of Record. (This includes field walk downs during construction.)
Fire Protection Facility Support and Oversight: Participate in the North Employee Accident Prevention Council/Employee Accident Prevention Council (NEAPC/EAPC) fire protection walk downs and as necessary conduct facility fire protection walk downs with facility representatives to observe facility conditions and provide suggestions for corrective actions improve non-compliant conditions within a facility. Ensure facility compliance with NFPA 801, NFPA 101, DOE Fire Protection requirements, and Company Standards & Procedures.
Participate in Team Planning Meetings (e.g. Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), hot work permits, walk down), Participate, coordinate and interface with facility maintenance and FSM. Work with Facility Maintenance on means of egress compliance.
Perform routine assessments of various systems and challenges. Assess combustible loading in WRPS foot print.
Assist craft with inspections and corrective actions concerning Fire doors Fire Barriers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications/Skills

Education—Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

Minimum of 2-year experience in design or design review of fire systems.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with fire protection suppression or alarm systems codes and standards including training, knowledge, and competencies necessary to trouble shoot (problem solve) Fire Protection System issues and document findings applying codes and standards of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA):
Alarms: NFPA 72, Fire Alarm Code
Fire Suppression Systems: NFPA 13, Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 25, Standard for Water-Based Fire Protection Systems
Life Safety Code: NFPA 101 Life Safety Code

Desired Qualifications/Skills

NICET Level 2 Certification in Fire Alarm Systems. https://www.nicet.org/
NICET Level 3 Certification in Fire Suppression Systems. https://www.nicet.org/
Previous Hanford Site Experience and training listed in 4.0 Training

Work Location/Potential Access

The specific work location(s) for the performance of this work is 2750E/200E.

Site Access and Work Hours

Hanford personnel at the Hanford Site work a standard 4/10 schedule. The standard work week consist of ten (10) hours of work between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with one-half hour designated as an unpaid period for lunch, Monday through Thursday. For work supporting the 222-S lab, the standard operating work week for the lab is modified slightly to a ten hour period of 6:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.

Work performed outside normal operating hours shall be coordinated and approved in accordance to procedure TFC-BSM-CP_CPR-C-12.
