Position defines sustainability strategy for ARP Latin America and drives the agenda by leading the development and execution of diverse initiatives across the region focus on differentiating our value proposition, enhancing business performance, supporting the long-term interests of the organization and positioning sustainability as a value-added advantage to increase growth, profitability and efficiency. Work closely with the regional sales, marketing and R&D functions to better understand sustainability initiatives and needs of customers and help position ARP as the preferred partner.
1. Sustainability Strategy
Position defines sustainability strategy for Latin America based on ARP’s long-term sustainability goals and operating principles.
Drives the agenda by leading the development and execution of diverse initiatives across the region.
Assess Latin America’s current sustainability performance to identify and prioritize the key sustainability issues and opportunities.
2. Sustainability Value Proposition
Focus on differentiating ARP by developing the customer value proposition, enhancing business performance, supporting the long-term interests of the organization and positioning sustainability as a value-added advantage to increase growth and profitability.
Lead and oversee the sales, marketing and R&D functions efforts in the region per sustainability customer value proposition goals.
Main liaison between customers and their company sustainability roles to jointly work on common goals and proactively add value.
3. Pledge 2025 & Innovation
Oversee the regional implementation and achievement of target goals of the Amcor Sustainability Pledge of 2025:
Lead the ARP Latam push to drive consistently greater recycling of packaging.
Interact and influence regional, both internally and externally, our sales, marketing and R&D teams and customers to significantly increase our use of recycled materials in our packaging by positioning revenue advantage.
Collaborate with R&D function in the execution of sustainability strategy and scope by challenging and influencing Engineers into a new way of doing business in which all packaging is recyclable and reusable by 2025 or early delivery of technology for customers who have an urgency to deliver prior to this date.
Define in conjunction with R&D the product development pipeline as part of the sustainability agenda and priorities.
4. Sustainability Trends and Communication
Monitor and assess external and internal sustainability initiatives across the region and Amcor to proactively incorporate into sustainability strategy plan and communicate impact.
Leverage ARP’s senior management commitment to integrate sustainable development into core business processes and decision making.
Facilitate communications on ARP’s sustainability initiatives, progress and key messages, both internally and externally.
Formal Qualifications & Experience
Must have a Bachelors degree in Environmental, Sustainability or similar field
Masters degree in Business Administration, International business, Finance or related field, preferred
12-18 years of experience in progresive sustainability roles
Demonstrated combination of sustainability, technical, business and financial acumen skills.
Proven ability to influence multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure an impactful level of involvement as well as external stakeholder engagement.
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Language: English and Spanish required (Portuguese a plus).
