The YMCA of South Florida is now hiring a Vice President of Operations in Miami. Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Operations – Miami will provide strategic leadership and direction to the operational activities of 3-4 family centers throughout Miami Dade County with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability. This individual must directly supervise and provide day-to-day guidance to Center Executive Directors and their leadership team with established goals, objectives, and policies of the YMCA of South Florida. These family centers have a combined operating budget of approximately $10 million.
Ensure that Family Center Goals are met towards the Association Strategic Plan and that all measurable outcomes are met.
Ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit through improved processes and management methods to generate higher returns on investment and workflow optimization.
Oversee the preparation of the annual budgets for the Family Centers and monitor monthly financial reports to assure revenue targets are met and expenses are controlled.
Implement and oversee a program evaluation system to guarantee faithfulness to the Y’s cause, and a high quality commitment to YMCA standards.
Oversee the development and maintenance of systems designed to enhance quality and efficiency within the Downtown, South Dade and Homestead operations.
Cultivate and develop relationships within all service area communities to support the YMCA’s mission and vision by creating deeper City and County relationships.
Provide guidance and cooperative leadership for the Annual Giving Campaigns for all family centers.
Work closely with Family Center Advisory Boards to ensure adherence to Association Board Governance policies. Assist with the vetting of potential advisory board members and orientation of all board members, and help standardize Board Meeting formats.
Model relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members and the community.
Ensure the operational growth of the YMCA through program expansion, member recruitment and retention, pricing strategies, new site development, collaborations as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Identify potential areas for family center cooperative programming to accomplish YMCA goals, and work with staff groups to develop and implement programs. Foster a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs and lead Family Center staff in the planning, development and implementation of new program initiatives and activities.
Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees.
Provide reports to the Chief Operating Officer and other Strategy and Leadership Team members.
Recommend all Capital Improvements through Property Committee and Strategy Team.
Serve as a member of the Association Leadership Team and support the overall objectives of the YMCA of South Florida.
Bachelor Degree with minimum of 10 years of successful progressive YMCA leadership in a variety of YMCA’s or similar experience.
Must be currently serving in a leadership role and have budget & oversite responsibility of over $5M within multiple sites / centers.
Experience in growing membership and program revenue; building strong volunteer and staff teams; collaborating with strategic funding partners.
Minimum of ten years of Family Center Operations, Budget Development & Fiscal Management experience.
Strong and successful Fundraising, Community Relations and Member Development / Retention experience.
Demonstrated success in face-to-face, major gifts solicitation, special events, fundraising, Board, and Volunteer development.
Ability to communicate and develop presentations to key stakeholders to show the impact of Y work.
Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening.
