Summary
This position will serve as an internal consultant to various business areas, bringing a technical and analytical approach to solving a wide variety of problems. Curiosity, critical thinking and strong communication will be key success factors for delivering unique and actionable business recommendations based on our growing knowledge of the fan. This position will execute and enhance the data processing, integrity, standardization, reporting and predictive modeling efforts of the Analytics Department.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Acquire, organize, analyze and present data from ticket sales, concessions and merchandise sales, social media and website engagement, corporate partnership sales, stadium operations, loyalty programs, market research and various other business verticals
  • Maintain data integrity within internal business data warehouse, CRM and e-Marketing systems
  • Support the continuous development of internal business data warehouse by executing data strategy, working with data warehouse vendor and developing ETL processes to acquire new data
  • Design and develop internal systems and scripts to acquire data that can be used to enhance and automate the business process
  • Partner with business owners to drive analytical insights, evaluating and identifying areas of opportunity and action to improve the effectiveness of the business
  • Design data marts with an eye for future business needs and predictive data models (e.g., renewal probability, fan clustering)
  • Develop and implement ticket pricing strategies based off market indicators and consumer research to achieve department and company objectives
  • Coordinate and fulfill internal market research needs and share insights to drive Sponsorship and Marketing department strategy
  • Use SQL queries to retrieve business information, respond to ad hoc requests and write reports using information from our database
  • Provide daily CRM support as needed
Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • 4-6 years professional experience in solving business problems using data science and methodical thinking
  • Considerable experience with statistical tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS) and methods to incorporate statistical results into analyses
  • An ability to breakdown problems and reconstruct systematic, sustainable technological solutions according to business requirements
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and Extract / Transform / Load (ETL) processes
  • Deep understanding of statistics, causal inference and experimental design
  • Curiosity about the evolving world of business and technology
  • A degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Economics
  • Experience using Power BI or other data visualization tools to deliver insights at scale
  • Prior experience with ticketing and sports analytics a plus
  • Curious self-starter who learns new concepts quickly
  • Close attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills used to distill complex technical concepts into business terms
