This role will have you contributing at the very core of eBay’s selling platform, to deliver an engaging selling experience for more than 25 million sellers across 22 nations, who collectively generate billions of dollars in revenue quarterly. Performance, reliability, scalability and accuracy are of utmost importance as this area of work is at the absolute top of the funnel for all of eBay’s massive e-commerce ecosystem.

As a senior software engineer you get to own large functional areas of the product and deliver features in a timely manner using best of breed design and coding principles. You will be expected to work in a fast paced Agile environment with a talented group of peers and be able to estimate projects and deliver them on time. You will also be expected to contribute to the overall engineering excellence of the team and the organization. You will have opportunities to participate in seminars and attend training to learn new technologies or improve your skills. For this particular role, we are looking for strong engineers with deep expertise in Java programming and databases. Familiarity with Scala is a bonus.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree/equivalent with at least 5 years of industry experience developing highly scalable distributed platforms and services in Java or Scala.
Hands on experiences in Java/J2EE, SOAP, SOA Services, Design Patterns, OOA/D , Data Structures, XML, REST, JSON, SQL.
Experience with unit and component testing frameworks, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to own features and work with product management and quality engineering to deliver robust, scalable and performant software using best of breed design and coding principles.
Ability to scope accurately and manage tasks in an Agile/Scrum environment and handle production rollouts and issues.
Team player and can do attitude.
