JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking candidates for the position of Chancellor of Penn State Abington. The Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Dean of the College and is responsible for the quality of academic programs in teaching, research, and service, including the promotion and tenure process; strategic planning; budgeting; philanthropy; faculty and staff development; outreach; alumni and community relations; and NCAA Division III athletics.
The position requires an individual who can lead a campus that is part of a twenty-four campus, student- centered, comprehensive research university. In addition to providing academic and administrative leadership to Penn State Abington, the chancellor is a key executive of the University and serves as a member of the Academic Leadership Council and Council of Campus Chancellors.
The successful candidate will be an experienced academic leader with an entrepreneurial outlook who is able to take charge of an effective and thriving campus and serve as a steward of Penn State in the broader Philadelphia region.
A minimum of five years of experience in higher education administration in a comprehensive, predominately undergraduate baccalaureate institution with responsibility for strategic oversight of personnel, planning, programs, communication, and resources is required.
The successful candidate will have a commitment to high-quality disciplinary and interdisciplinary education, as well as diversity and inclusion.
Qualified candidates will have a terminal degree and the aptitude and willingness to lead significant fundraising efforts.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Penn State Abington is an undergraduate college of Penn State, the land-grant University of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania serving over 90,000 students. The College enrolls approximately 4,000 students and offers 21 baccalaureate degree programs, a Master of Business Administration program, and two associate degree programs.
Students also have the option of completing the first two years of nearly all of Penn State`s 275 baccalaureate degrees at the campus and then moving to another Penn State campus to complete their studies.
The campus is organized into three divisions: Arts and Humanities, Science and Engineering and Social Sciences.
The College’s successful continuing education programs are integral to its academic mission and offer corporate learning, off-campus credit education for organizations, and youth programs throughout the year.
There are 163 full-time and 211 part-time faculty and 138 staff employees.
Penn State Abington is a vibrantly diverse college on a beautifully landscaped, suburban campus less than 15 miles north of Center City Philadelphia.
The campus is situated on 45-acres of wooded land, and includes a duck pond, walking trails and many species of hardwood trees.
Students participate in a wide variety of activities, including over 50 student organizations and community outreach, intramural and recreational sports, and 13 intercollegiate sports.
A residence hall complex provides housing for 400 students.
The College is a member of the NCAA’s Division III and a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
