The Headlines:
In the role of VP of Legal Operations, working in Denver, you will be part of the global Legal and Corporate Affairs (LCA) team. Among other things, you will lead our multi-jurisdictional and multi-functional legal and risk management team, and will provide thought leadership to other global functions, including our global Procurement and Supply Chain leadership teams. Put another way, you are both a strategic leader and business advisor. You will also need to be hands-on, negotiating complex and material legal agreements and resolving complex business issues and disputes. This position reports directly to the Global Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs Officer and is a member of the senior LCA global leadership team.

The Responsibilities:
Expected to be a true partner to the business; works closely with key stakeholders (Procurement and Supply Chain, including real estate) to understand their business goals and helps develop a global legal and risk management strategy in alignment with their strategic needs and oversees execution of that strategy, including supporting negotiations in key spend areas.
Develops and provides oversight of global risk management function (including insurance, crisis management, business continuity, security and corporate center litigation matters), while seeking to proactively identify solutions to mitigate and eliminate risks.
Develops and provides oversight of the company’s Intellectual Property function, including prosecution and defense of the company’s IP portfolio and commercial IP licensing arrangements. Works closely with the company’s innovation, R&D and growth teams to support their activities involving IP.
Oversees the company’s global data privacy strategy and initiatives (e.g., GDPR).
Liaises where appropriate with other global functions (such as Finance, Tax, Ethics & Compliance, Human Resources) and Business Unit Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs Officers in order to provide effective, fit for purpose solutions.
Promotes engagement and effective talent management within a global team across multiple jurisdictions. Ensures continued development of team members and the team as a whole, with appropriate plans in place for succession and team engagement.
Oversees, monitors and provides thought leadership for the corporate center legal department operations, including: legal budgeting, law firm selection and management, and operating technologies and efficiencies.

You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business.
You are strong people leader, who cares about people development and engagement.
You are deadly serious about results and take pride in a proven track record in delivering.
You have at least 10 years of legal practice, including some in-house and ideally some litigation or litigation oversight experience.
You love a challenge and have experience dealing with laws of other jurisdictions and sensitivity and experience in working in other geographies.
You have experience and knowledge of relevant regulatory, risk management, IP, procurement, and supply chain issues related to the beverage industry or other consumer packaged goods.
You have a strong executive presence and credibility to present to and advise the Molson Coors Executive Leadership Team and other functional leadership teams.
