The Nutanix Services and Customer Solutions team delivers a strong influence on the success of each Nutanix implementation by its customers. The Services function ensures success by engaging with customers in the pre-sales and post-sales stages by assisting in their software-defined data center (SDDC) strategy and architecture. Besides helping customers implement Nutanix products successfully, the Services team, working with our partners, ensures customer success in fully implementing their virtualized and software-defined data centers. The Nutanix Services Consulting function includes assessment, design, implementation, integration and automation services as well as project management.
Job Summary – Infrastructure Consultant / Architect
Nutanix Services and Customer Solutions (S&CS) primary goal is to ensure the success of our customers. The Services function engages customers in the pre-sales and post-sales stages to deliver high-valued outcomes in their software-defined data center (SDDC) strategy and architecture. Besides helping customers implement Nutanix products successfully, the Services team, working with our partners, delivers migrations, hybrid cloud, VDI, and Tier 1 Application re-platforming solutions to enable truly software-defined data centers. The Nutanix Services function includes consulting, planning, design, implementation, integration and automation services as well as project management.
The Consultant / Architect will work in the Services team to help clients establish overall architectural vision and direction. They will focus on designing complex solutions for our customers, as well as work with software developers, consultants, and engineers to create scalable and repeatable solutions for partners. They should have an extensive background in business-critical applications as well as the ability to create service offerings around, as well as deliver private cloud, automation, and orchestration projects.

Consult customers to identify, elaborate, and document business and technical requirements.
Architect, design, and build robust hybrid cloud computing solutions that integrate hardware, software, virtualization, and networking that meet industry best practices from a variety of vendors.
Participate in pre-sales to provide services overlay to the existing sales motion primarily as a SME
Create toolkits, best practice documents and whitepapers

Years of industry experience – Consultant: 3+ | Senior Consultant: 6+ | Architect: 8+
Proven skills with industry certifications in virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V)
Understanding of distributed systems
Ability to go deep on core platform architecture concepts (e.g. hardware platform, hypervisor, Networking, security, data protection, high availability, monitoring & alerting, patching etc.)
Solid understanding of data center infrastructure including servers, SAN, and switching
Familiarity with security & compliance standards across a variety enterprise IT landscapes
High level of comfort performing white boarding sessions and PowerPoint presentations
Expertise in 2 or more of the following areas of specialization:
Large scale migrations (V2V & P2V) with robust understanding of cloud computing transition challenges
End User Computing Solutions and Application Virtualization (e.g. Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp / VMWare Horizon View / AppVolumes, etc.)
Public & Hybrid Cloud architecture and migrations (AWS / GCP / Azure, etc)
Experience in network virtualization with a focus on NSX or ACI
Business-Critical Applications including SQL, Oracle, and Exchange
Containers including Docker / Kubernetes
Automation and Orchestration tools (e.g. OpenStack / CloudStack / vRealize / CloudForms, etc.)
Scripting languages (Bash / Shell / Python)
Configuration Management tools (e.g. Chef / Puppet / Ansible / Salt, etc.)
DevOps continuous deployment utilities (e.g. Jenkins / Artifactory / GitHub / Jira, etc.)
8+ years of experience in consulting
Expert level certification (NPX, VCDX, CCIE, etc.)
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
