About Us: The International Hearing Society (IHS), an international not-for-profit association established in 1961 and representing over 4,000 hearing healthcare professionals worldwide, is seeking a high-performing project specialist with 2+ years of experience in a support role, preferably in an association management, education and/or small office environment.
Job Summary: The Professional Development Specialist supports key educational projects by fulfilling daily operations, maintaining database/program files and completing project activities at the highest level of quality. The Professional Development Specialist will work closely with the Department Director and provide administrative support as necessary.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned • Provide excellent customer service • Data enter and maintain records in database • Resolve customer issues • Document progress, processes and produce reports • Process and Fulfill orders • Manage inventory • Work collaboratively with volunteer members, committees, vendors and staff in bringing educational programs to fruition
Additional Responsibilities: Departmental Responsibilities: • Support key projects by fulfilling daily operations, maintaining database/program files and completing project activities at the highest level of quality • Provide administrative support to volunteer committees • Make projects visible and perform related department duties including customer service
Job Requirements Education and Experience: • The successful candidate would have a minimum Associate’s Degree and at least three (3) years of experience in a small office environment • Must be a positive, contributing team player, working with various levels of personnel and members • Ability to emphasize customer service, handle multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks and problem-solve, as well as monitor and adjust to unanticipated circumstances • Independent worker, trouble-shooter, and problem solver • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills • Above average office skills
Required Abilities and Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communications skills • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills • Knowledge of database applications is required • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
