Traffic Signal Installer

The candidate will work on various locations as needed installing:

  • Conduit, pull boxes, caissons, signal poles and mast arms, light poles, traffic signal cabinets as well as other related duties.
  • A general knowledge of all equipment is also preferred (skid loader, mini, back hoe, cranes, bucket trucks).

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. May install or service street lights, Traffic Signal Components, Variable Message Signs, ITS System Components or electrical control systems.

  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Building and Construction— Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair.
  • Mechanical— Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their application.
  • Design— Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Troubleshooting— Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Repairing— Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Building and Construction— Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair.

  • IMSA Level II preferred, IMSA Level I Required
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Must possess your own basic tools to perform all daily tasks.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred
  • Work is in the Denver metro area, as well as state wide. Travel will be required as needed.
  • OSHA 40 preferred
  • First Aid, CPR preferred

Company vehicle and compensation based on experience and ability.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $35.00 /hour
