The Director is responsible for identifying and establishing new channel partners, developing market coverage strategies, distributor business modeling, and financial positioning and go to market strategies for established and new dealer/distribution partners. This role will develop sales and regional distribution strategies along with marketing communication tactics to ensure execution of programs and market share growth. This position will act as a liaison between regional distribution/dealer partners and key customers while working closely with distributor channel leadership and the Generac Mobile VP of Sales to create business plans for greater market penetration. Internal communication and collaboration with Industrial Solutions Distributor development and Residential Channel Acquisition will be critical to leverage existing partnerships and expand market coverage. The Director will coordinate all service development and sales/marketing activities with distribution partners; building, designing and executing the plans needed to grow support capability and share within the markets of responsibility.
Establishes dealer channel sales reports and metrics; provides recommendations and strategies to take advantage of new business opportunities and market segments. Monitors competitive activity to understand where new sales opportunities may exist within the dealer channel as well as verticals to establish new representation in. Evaluates market trends and competitive information to manage the overall sales and marketing strategy of the dealer business
Establish a dynamic business model to expand channel equipment sales while maximizing end user and rental company support to increase customer satisfaction and grow aftermarket business
Develop and implement the geographic and vertical market footprint of the dealer channels to provide adequate sales and support footprint for the Mobile product categories
Manages and increases existing sales and servicing dealers to expand and create new business in North America.
Cross Functional Execution
Partners with the Service Department, to develop and implement a product support model for the new dealer channel. Key metrics to include staffing levels, training requirements and over the counter fill rate of aftermarket parts.
Works with marketing to develop strategic relationships with dealers, and other channel partners. Working with product development, develops a “Product Development Road Map” that will drive revenue and result in measurable market share growth.
Works with regional sales leaders to develop appropriate sales and aftermarket strategy and coverage for new markets
Coordinates with the Service Department to develop Warranty metrics, customer satisfaction goals and process improvement.
Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved
Manage direct and indirect sales teams in a matrix environment.
Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related degree – MBA preferred;
Minimum of 10 years of progressive international sales and marketing experience;
5 years of progressive leadership experience.
5 years’ experience developing and leading dealer and or distribution channels;
5 years’ experience in a global manufacturing environment;
Preferred Qualifications: 5 years experience working in rental markets
5 years experience managing and leading large sales and/or marketing teams;
2 years experience implementing dealer metrics and driving channel improvement.

On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
