The Tribune-Democrat seeks an accomplished publisher to lead its experienced team, including an award-winning newsroom, in Johnstown as well as its Maryland sister publication, the Cumberland Times-News.

The newspapers are published seven days a week, and feature robust digital platforms for news, sports and advertising content. They also produce monthly lifestyle magazines.

We are looking for an enterprising, high-energy executive with a record of growing print and online revenue, and who also has a proven record in producing strong local journalism, community relations and digital innovation. Applicants must possess the ability to create and execute a multiplatform sales strategy that covers print, niche publications, websites, newsletters, social media and mobile products.

Exceptional leadership, organizational and communication skills are vital. Candidates need management experience in budgeting, forecasting, meeting revenue targets and managing expenses.

The Tribune-Democrat is a 21,000-plus circulation paper in western Pennsylvania. In addition, it publishes several SMC products. The Cumberland Times-News is a 15,000-plus circulation paper located 65 miles south of Johnstown in western Maryland.

Located 70 miles east of Pittsburgh, Johnstown offers a wide range of recreational activities for all seasons that include boating, skating, hiking, bike trails, hunting, hockey (location of classic movie “Slap Shot” starring Paul Newman) and several community festivals throughout the year. It is a regional medical, cultural and educational center, featuring contiguous campuses of the University of Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in neighboring Richland.
