Summary of Role:
The primary responsibility of a Defect Inspection Applications Engineer is to develop and deploy inspection strategies and recipes to enable aggressive D0 yield learning. This includes but is not limited to optimization of defect inspection recipes for better DOI (Defect of Interest) capture, improvement of throughput, tool utilization, manufacturability and overall cost of ownership. This role will drive technical projects in support of both new product development and high volume manufacturing

Required Qualifications:
- Education \_ BS Degree in Engineering or Solid State Physics
- Experience – 2-4 years of applicable semiconductor experience
- 2 years experience with Brightfield, Darkfield, Macro inspection, and/or SEM tools .
- Strong, effective communication and leadership/teamwork skills are required.
- Language Fluency – Fluent in English Language – written & verbal
Salary: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $85,700 to $111,000 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Essential Responsibilities:
- Create defect inspection/review recipes using leading edge Brightfield, Darkfield, Macro inspection and/or SEM tools.
- Develop inspection strategy & methodology in support of technology development.
- Drive continuous improvement to manufacturability and cost of ownership through productivity and fleet optimization.
- Create and execute DOE (design of experiments), analyze data, and communicate results with recommendations to the broader technical teams.
- Provide effective leadership and mentorship to process technicians
- Required hands-on, day-to-day review of process and tool data, evaluation of defect monitoring strategies, and understanding of defect mechanisms to support continuous improvement.
- Drives broad technical projects across organizations
- Required to work in a clean-room environment to supervise, execute, or oversee activities
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
