The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business is comprised of the university’s three accredited business schools: The Hotel School, the Charles H. The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell delivers educational programming across seven different MBA programs with the intent of developing highly successful and ethical business leaders of the future. Relying on the pillars of performance learning, a collaborative community and Cornell’s vast connections, the Johnson faculty produce students equipped to excel in the current cross-functional, collaborative, digital economy. Under general supervision, in a service-oriented environment, provides a high level of administrative support to faculty and academic staff to support their teaching, research, and service activities within the Johnson School. The College’s Management field’s Graduate Program Office currently resides in the Johnson School.

In support of the Management field PhD program, the Graduate Program Assistant will provide administrative support. This temporary, six-month temporary position, 20 hours per week (and more depending on evolving business needs), will ensure the highest level of customer service, professionalism, and collaboration among the team.

The Graduate Program Assistant will provide program support in the following areas:

Serve as back up to the Graduate Program Managers
Data Collection and analysis
Finance, budgeting, and Bursar and payroll appointments
Organize, attend, and assist with Graduate Program events (Orientation, Fall Welcome event, Graduation, etc.)
Reserve seminar, conference and classrooms
Maintain records and invoices, file reimbursements and payments to PhD students
Copying, filing, set up of meetings, groups, rooms, catering orders, name cards, labels
Respond to email inquiries, and provide information to prospective applicants
Office Administration

Under the direction of Graduate Program Managers assist with admissions and assistantship appointments.
Maintain confidentiality with application data, student data, grades and academic interests.
Logistics and support for the transition of new students to campus.
Respond to inquiries about graduate degree programs, and assist with visitors.
Required Qualifications

Formal training beyond a High School Diploma of 1 to 2 years
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and Web Site updates
Proficient in Finance and Budgeting
Ability to work independently, and interact diplomatically under stressful conditions, and deadlines, change direction, provide sound judgment, and problem-solving skills
Experience with diverse student populations, and handling of sensitive information
Must provide exceptional service in a professional and high quality work environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Workday, Kuali, PeopleSoft, Bursar, and Qualtrics
Associates Degree or Office management skills
Graphic Design, charts, graphs, tables, and surveys
Knowledge of higher education, academic environment, or fast paced office setting.
