The Video Editor will join a highly productive and well-regarded video team in marketing the firm and its capabilities through external-facing video. The person in this role will collaborate with the firm’s marketing personnel, attorneys and the Video Marketing Manager to deliver a broad mix of capabilities including: video editing and post-production, acquiring and archiving stock/archival footage, and occasional lighting / shooting video content under the supervision of the Video Marketing Manager. This position will video edit original or existing materials with an understanding of content needs, developing and/or creating strong storylines, and produce video that delivers strategic messaging and engages audiences. They will assist the Video Marketing Manager with development of videos used for marketing and business development, as well as videos used for internal communications, training and education.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to multi-task and to gain understanding of client needs and provide a creative solution in a timely manner.
Thorough understanding of the video production process.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere, the craft of editing, and storytelling.
Ability to edit for long project duration.
Expert knowledge of digital file formats/ digital file delivery.
Ability to effectively collaborate with a team while operating independently on solo projects.
Ability/willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and on short notice to help with setting up and break down of video equipment for shoots.
SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED
Strong knowledge of the theory and practice of color correction and relative software (Resolve, SpeedGrade).
Knowledge of After Effects, compositing, and motion graphics techniques.
Knowledge of operation of professional camera equipment is a plus (RED, Black Magic, Sony).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
B.A. in Film and/or Video Production/comparable degree, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of corporate video work experience in a large enterprise.
