API Architect - Specialist Leader

A Deloitte Consulting's technology professional helps clients identify and solve their most critical information and technological challenges. Our experienced technology professionals offer deep technical experience in their area of focus and are committed to delivering efficient, technology-based solutions to our clients. Our professionals are aligned with a technology service line to promote the development of deep technical skills and experiences and improve our ability to tailor solutions to solve our clients' business issues.
As an API Architect/Specialist Leader you will implement and deploy API solutions while demonstrating expertise in a number of areas including cloud computing, API design and development, Public and Private API design and development, cloud messaging, ground-to-cloud connectivity, highly scalable distributed systems.
Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals
Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.
Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.
Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.
An API Architect - Specialist Leader must have:
At least 10 years of relevant consulting or industry experience
At least 10 years of relevant consulting or industry experience
6+ years of experience providing end-to-end integration solutions development for enterprise software or hosted high-tech services
Experience with identifying API from business processes design and implementing API using latest and emerging technology
Working knowledge of one of the API platform such as Apigee, IBM API Connect, MuleSoft API, Dell API or similar project
Working knowledge of API design and development on the Cloud as well as on-premise environments
Working knowledge of API security certification, authentication, authorization, IP security setup, and end point configuration
Working knowledge of cloud native API such as Amazon API, Pivotal API or similar products
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and APIs.
Experience in comparative analysis of different API products available in the market
Willingness to travel 80-100%
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Preferred qualifications include:
API Design and Development
Certification in one API product
Experience in planning and managing Technology Integration development- lifecycle processes.
Experience in technology evaluation, scalability analysis and tool selection efforts for Technology Integration projects.
Provide leadership across small teams, in a collaborative environment, build consensus amongst the project team members
Should be able to provide a balanced view of all key architectural quality metrics such as performance, scalability, reliability, availability, agility and interoperability
AngularJS - Jave related language that is more of a UI customization tool
Scala and Akka - Data Integration related programming tools for development of API's and 3rd party integration
