What we do:
The Wholesale Product Office (WPO) within the Financial Services Group manages the Fedwire Funds Service, the Fedwire Securities Service, and the National Settlement Service on behalf of the Federal Reserve System. Collectively, these services clear and settle financial transactions exceeding $4 trillion per day and are a foundational underpinning of the United States financial system. Thousands of banks, credit unions, other depository institutions, and a variety of U.S. government entities are direct users of the WPO’s services and critically depend on them to safely and efficiently conduct their operations and serve their customers. The WPO is committed to leading projects that promote strategies to improve the safety, speed, and efficiency of the payment systems in the United States. The team is looking for a data analyst to support a variety of business initiatives related to the Fedwire Funds Service and the National Settlement Service, with primary responsibility for analytics, data modeling, and tracking trends across products.
Your role as a Senior Data Analyst:
Support businesses by downloading and assembling data sets; building dashboards applying modern business intelligence tools, preparing charts, tables and presentations;
Use statistical, econometric and other software packages to perform analyses, model estimation and simulations; and summarize findings,
Analyze volume, value, market, and industry trends and other data;
Provide data analytics to enhance and create new models to help discuss pricing strategies for the Fedwire Funds Service and the National Settlement Service to ensure full cost recovery while maintaining price competitiveness;
Use data analytics to draw conclusions and build expertise about the Fedwire Funds Service and the National Settlement Service businesses;
Participate in or lead workgroups and meetings on pricing or other data projects and provide support to industry meetings ;
Provide concise written communications to explain data analysis methodologies and conclusions to update colleagues, senior management, and industry groups;
Oversee the work of a junior data analyst on the Fedwire Funds Service and National Settlement Service product team.
What we are looking for:
Approximately seven years of related experience working with and analyzing complex data sets to draw conclusions and working on projects to improve a product or service;
Bachelor degree in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics or related field; Master’s degree preferred;
Experience with the use of data visualization software (e.g.Tableau);
Experience in using complex databases and statistical packages (e.g. Stata, Matlab, SAS, R, Gauss, TSP, RATS, PROCSQL), or other computer programming experience (Python, Java, C++, Mathematica, etc.);
Experience business and data analysis and an ability to analyze large amounts of information and data to draw conclusions; create management summaries, and present to executive audiences
Capabilities in the areas of enhancing data analysis that deepens the understanding of business drivers, trends, and market developments.
