GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Coding of hospital operative reports, hospital rounding, office procedures, clinic charges and lab.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for coding operative reports, hospital rounding, office procedures, radiology and daily office clinic charges for multiple physicians
Responsible for reconciling all missing charges daily and notifying Office Manager
Pull hospital reports and rounding visits from facilities website
Communicate with staff on all coding updates and requirements
Work with Insurance Department on all coding problems
Work closely with physicians to education on correct coding.
Help with any coding issues.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

ASC (CASCC) and or CPC coding certified, 3 years minimum experience with coding

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

APCC/CPC certified or AHIEM/FHIT certified

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

Intermediate: Database

Basic: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Education:
High School Education or GED and APCC/CPC certified or AHIEM/FHIT certified

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year coding experience, computer experience with CPT/ICD-10 coding certificate or job experience.

Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding.

2. Computer data entry.

3. Medical terminology.

Skills:
1. Skills in using computer programs and applications.

2. CPT/ICD-10 coding.

3. Medical terminology.

Abilities:
1. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
