VNTANA is a fast growing privately held company that is an end to end solutions for premium mixed reality experiences. We have more than doubled every year since inception in 2012 and our clients include Nike, Intel, Adidas, Microsoft, Lexus and other Fortune 1000 companies. VNTANA is based in Van Nuys, CA but does work globally particularly in Europe and Asia. There are 9 full time employees who are building the future of mixed reality software and hardware, plus 50 contractors trained on how to install our equipment and create hologram content on the VNTANA Platform. Mission:

The Mission of the Technical Director is to make sure that all of VNTANA’s live activations are a success operationally, stay within budget and end with happy clients. The person in this position must foster teamwork and a spirit of collaboration among team members across departments as they will be working with software, sales, business partners and clients.

This role has about 30 – 40% travel domestically & internationally and some late nights and weekends required dependent on client project deadlines and event dates. This position will report directly to the CEO & COO.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate pre-production and prep for all VNTANA Events. This includes building technical drawings (vectorworks), selecting and renting gear, & crewing the event. This position will also work with the Digital Producer to ensure the software works well with the hardware setup. Pull sheets will be created in FlexWorks for all jobs.
  • Manage & organize on-site setup, operation, & strike for all VNTANA Events. This means being able to operate the equipment including LED walls, basic lighting, video playback, & audio setups. This also includes working with other vendors at events to integrate our setup with the overall show. PLEASE NOTE: This involves physically helping to setup/install the equipment.
  • Manage the organization of the VNTANA warehouse and overall hardware operations at VNTANA. This includes keeping the warehouse organized (with assets properly entered in FlexWorks), inventory stocked, & making sure the demo hardware is working correctly and easy to use.
  • Source and screen various operational vendors including: video technicians, stage hands, VNTANA certified technicians, equipment rental houses, etc.
  • Train new VNTANA operations employees & vendors on VNTANA’s hardware and operating procedures. Also train other VNTANA staff including sales and software on VNTANA hardware and how to use it.

Specific Measures of Success:

  • Maintain at least 89% positive client review.
  • 90% of jobs come in at or under budget.
  • At least a 7/10 rating from team members in quarterly 360 reviews.
  • 95% of equipment for jobs is packed and delivered on-time.
  • Warehouse is clean & organized and equipment can be easily found at all times.
