The Director of Digital Marketing Automation is responsible for understanding business requirements and formulating high quality technical solutions that empower the Marketing teams to utilize the Marketing Cloud automation platform.
This new position will support the marketing team with building custom queries, email templates, amp script based dynamic template’s, automation jobs, and build out meaningful customer journeys.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Platforms and Data the ideal candidate will have experience with Salesforce Marketing and Commerce Cloud.
Essential Job Results
Resident Salesforce Marketing Cloud expert is responsible for end-to-end solution design and lead technical development team implementation
Translate business and marketing challenges into well-architected solutions.
Collaborate with commerce development team to determine best path for Salesforce platform implementation.
Create documentation that acts as blueprint for developer implementation (e.g. data flow, architecture diagrams, process flows, etc.)
Stay in tune with latest Salesforce technology updates, changes, community, and roadmap(s).
Understand the ins and outs of complex technology environments and know how to optimize solutions for efficiency and simplicity
Responsible for the primary Marketing Cloud data model and architecture
Like to teach and coach a business team on how to best use Salesforce MC
Maintain and document technical processes and marketing automation procedures and provide seamless hand-off to business users to utilize
Training on SF cloud platforms
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with non-technical personnel
Experience with email and/or marketing automation software and integration with databases
Must have experience with HTML, XML, SQL, Java, SOAP and REST-based web services. CSS and JQuery frame works preferred.
Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) or ExactTarget is required.
Education and Experience
4-7+ years of experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Strong background in agile SCRUM management practices and associated tools (Jira, Confluence, Slack, etc.)
Fundamental understanding of database technologies (MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, etc.)
Certified in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud Consultant is preferred, but not required
