Tellepsen Landscaping Services is looking for a Lead Landscape Architect Designer with 15+ years of practicing experience. We are recognized in Houston’s community for our creative, thoughtful and enduring gardens, as well as our collaboration with leading residential architectural & building firms in town. We are a full service high-end design/ build company who takes the project from inception, final design and installation, and in most instances, ongoing maintenance to develop/ manage the gardens as they mature into their original vision.

The ideal candidate should have established relationships with Architects, Builders, Subcontractors and field related organizations. Minimum requirements for the Lead Landscape Architect Designer include :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
  • Relative experience in high-end residential design; additional experience in construction management
  • Client management and coordination through all phases of project life
  • Execute marketing/ business development efforts, recruitment and design office management
  • Excellent written, verbal and graphic communication skills
  • Skilled in communicating design intent through quick hand rendered concept master plans
  • AutoCAD; Adobe Creative Suite; Microsoft Office; Sketchup (required); Land F/X
  • Has demonstrated working experience in the Greater Houston Area including: River Oaks, Memorial, West U, Bellaire, Galleria and surrounding areas

The responsibilities for the Lead Landscape Architect Designer include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage projects to work within budgets and timeliness
  • Displays leadership qualities, drive, and self-initiative
  • Possesses strong design, problem solving critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Plan, organize and supervise the development and preparation of landscape drawings and specifications
  • Review and make recommendations regarding landscape architecture and design
  • Perform plant and tree selection
  • Pay frequent visits to job sites to ensure that the design and quality is being adhered to
  • Interfacing with Clients, General Contractors, Subcontractors to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • Develop & see through budgeting phase of project, from preliminary high/low budget to final client approved budget
