Growing downtown Chicago Plaintiff's law firm seeks to hire a Litigation Paralegal, or Experienced Legal Staff for additional support for principal and legal staff. Experience in Personal Injury Litigation is preferred. Our office handles a variety of cases including Nursing Home Abuse, Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice, Civil Rights, Employment Discrimination, Nursing Home Abuse; Sexual Assaults cases to name a few. The cases are informative, cutting edge and local and nationally newsworthy. Graduates of law school are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be enthusiastic about organization, willing to work independently and follow directions, articulate, and pleasant. The candidate will perform a variety of duties including:
- Managing the case management system Clio (training available - experience with other software a plus)
- Drafting pleadings filing documents internally and externally
- Abstracting documents
- Answering phones to interact with clients, prospective clients, opposing counsel and the court
- Heavy typing 60 wpm minimum
- Strong reading comprehension, active listening, critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills, exceptional knowledge of the English language and structure.
- Solid knowledge of the legal system: laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, agency rules and executive orders.
