The Events & Programs Coordinator will develop, plan, managed, and coordinate the educational outreach, and cultural programming offered by W&M Libraries, as well as those developed in collaboration with other units at the university. the incumbent will manage between 20 and 30 programs annually and coordinate other, smaller programs developed by library staff for staff development or to fulfill specific outreach mission needs, such as classes and workshops. The incumbent will oversee all aspects of events, from managing the planning to coordinating the logistics, to ensure all events run smoothly, and will resolve issues effectively within the planning stages and during events. The Events and Program Coordinator works with the External Relations team and library leadership to create and develop programming concepts; plan and manage event execution, including venue space book signings, catering, travel arrangements, honoraria processing, event timelines and other event-related details; collaborate with the university's events team, President's office, and other partners on joint events or activities hosted in library spaces; and develop and monitor budgets for all outreach programming.
Minimum Qualifications â?¢ Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. â?¢ Experience with event coordination and management, volunteer management, or donor relations. â?¢ Demonstrates strong problem solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions or recommendations. â?¢ Demonstrates careful attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. â?¢ Demonstrates outstanding communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
Preferred Qualifications â?¢ Degree credentials in arts, business, management, non-profit management, public relations, writing and composition, and/or marketing preferred. â?¢ Experience working in higher education.
