TREASURY AND CASH CONTROL MANAGER

REPORTS TO: SVP FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING

SUMMARY

As a key member of the Sizzler USA Finance Team, this position is responsible for all areas related to Treasury. This includes all cash management functions such as daily cash monitoring, preparing related journal entries, assisting with the period-end close process, preparation of various account reconciliations, financial reporting, sales and use tax filing and cash forecasting. Also, this position needs to be a financial liaison, supporting the Operation’s Team in the accounting arena.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish best practices for all Treasury related functions and procedures including cash handling. This includes documenting all processes and procedures.
  • Identify, manage and communicate all known treasury issues and risks
  • Daily monitoring of cash activities
  • Responsible for all Treasury reporting including:
  • Cash forecasts – maintain a 52-week rolling cash forecast with appropriate and documented assumptions identifying any potential areas of risk or investment opportunities. This includes presenting to management weekly.
  • Account Reconciliations – including but not limited to; all cash accounts, deposits, gift cards, escheatment’s, sales and use tax payable, intercompany, bank fees, credit card accounts and payroll related accounts.
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly sales and use tax filings
  • Company-store level P&L review and analysis, researching and resolving open issues
  • Provide restaurant management with assistance in any accounting, cash or P&L questions
  • Assist the Finance team in producing accurate and timely financial statements, including assisting with the period-end close and financial reporting process including preparing journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships that will allow the treasury area to be successful, primarily with:
  • Operations Team – Restaurant managers, Business Partners and VP of Operations
  • Co-workers – Accounting and Finance teams as well as all Support Center personnel
  • Bank Representations – includes credit card vendors
  • Assist with annual financial audit
  • Assist in special projects as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • S. degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Five years of accounting experience with focus in Treasury area required
  • Accounting restaurant industry experience preferred
  • Understand Point of Sale and Back office systems and reporting
  • Experience with JD Edwards preferred
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work long hours at a desk and utilization of computer keyboard and computer screen

  • Ability to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop or be on feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel to company-operated restaurants periodically located in CA, primarily in the Los Angeles area

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 /year
