Kitchen manager needed for busy restaurant & bar

This is a "Working Chef" position and a great opportunity for someone who has sous chef experience and ready to take the next step.

Seeking an experienced, dependable & creative individual who is enthusiastic about farm fresh, seasonal local ingredients and cooking from scratch.

Must have the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in independent/ non-corporate farm to table / scratch kitchen
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced high volume kitchen
  • Creativity & motivation to develop menus and daily specials based upon ongoing seasonal changes
  • Experience with high quality fresh food/ high standards and fusion cuisine
  • Strong effective communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • Experience leading a group, delegating and monitoring staff performance while fostering a positive teamwork environment
  • Manage daily ordering, costing and food stock control with efficiency and accuracy
  • Meet deadlines for paperwork and menu changes
  • Ability to monitor and ensure that kitchen cleanliness and sanitation practices are maintained to the highest standards
  • Communicate with and train FOH staff on menu changes and ingredients
  • Experience/ability to interview, hire, train, and manage staff
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in varied positions including food prep, line, sautee and expediter or 1 year experience as a head chef in a high volume, fast paced all fresh food/scratch restaurant
  • Valid Serv Safe certificate preferred
