POSITION SUMMARY:
This role offers the opportunity to join the DTLR VILLA Marketing Team. Music and entertainment are integral levers that strengthen the DTLR VILLA brand and the Director of Music and Entertainment will be tasked with developing existing and new relationships and partnerships with major urban entertainment clients in the US. The Director Music and Entertainment will also work closely with the Marketing team to manage senior level agency relationships.

This position requires expertise in strategic marketing events and in store radio programming; broadcast industry knowledge and contacts; business excellence; corporate sales; leadership. The director works closely with large and small radio broadcasters, satellite radio, music content companies, industry and government organizations, brands with music activations and data suppliers. You will be responsible for all aspects of programming including; scheduling, managing on-air staff, imaging, station strategy, developing revenue generating promotions, social media and promotions. The opportunity also provides a daily showcase of your talents on-air on DTLR VILLA Radio.

Candidates must have a track record of success. Digital and social strategies must be as engaging as on-air tactics and execution. The best candidates will be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and react in a calm and decisive way when dealing with challenging situations. Excellent writing and production skills to image and brand your stations are essential. People skills and the ability to work closely with talent, department heads and a talented marketing sales team are critical.

The Director of Music & Entertainment is responsible for developing marketing campaigns with an emphasis on artist content/brand development. This position will work with artists/management and various music marketing/label colleagues to develop strategies and implement high impact one-of-a-kind in store, social media, web and streaming campaigns. Employee will act as a central marketing point on multiple concurrent pop and urban projects from initial conception through program cycles as well as maintaining off cycle artist social media and digital presence.

Manages related and interdependent projects by allocating resources, prioritizing efforts, resolving issues, and maintaining the job- related projects - aligning goals and strategies in an integrated manner. Provides leadership and assistance on a variety of complex organizational issues, special projects, institutional strategies and new policies on behalf of the VP of Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work directly with Marketing, Store Operations, IT and other departments as required
Oversee the music scheduling /talent requirements of station.
Insure that station formatics are executed properly
Schedule music via RCS Selector software and run daily/weekly analysis of Selector software/schedules
Create RCS Long Audit Trials, successfully analyze music scheduling problems and propose reliable solutions
Assist with creating Contest/Promotional/Imaging copy & themed weekend campaigns
Maintain the stations’ music libraries and oversee the dubbing of all music content media
Secure music required for broadcast
Continually re-examine the Selector software to insure that all pertinent data is listed for each song and that all fields are complete and correct
Attend music sorts/perceptual presentations and actively participate in brainstorming sessions.
Maintain long term partnership with leading entertainment companies
Be the DTLR VILLA industry expert on the broadcasting needs of the stores establishing deep and broad relationships with all key stakeholders ( Media, marketing, procurement, media agency , creative agency, store operations )
Work with DTLR Marketing team to deliver great solutions to best fit the advertising needs
Proactive engagement with industry committees and conferences
Coordinates programming to strategically align with sales plans and events
Develops budgets for radio station and sponsored events
Attends industry events, conferences and meetings
Fosters strategic alliances with consultants and industry players
Conducts and coordinates strategic programming sessions with store operations and marketing (according to strategic sales plan).
Maximizes use of consultants/contracted employees for training and customer engagement
Maximizes DTLR VILLA radio team for outside opportunities
Creates strategic proposals for prospective clients
Negotiates subscription terms with prospects
Oversees DTLR VILLA radio product development
Works to drive awareness and opportunities both in and out of radio industry
Work with artists, management and label colleagues to devise and implement innovative, attainable and successful digital strategies
Liaise with internal Creative, Event and Promotional Managers and resources to create content calendars across multiple platforms to support social media activation
Partner with Creative Manager to create artist visual branding including social skins and website landing pages
Participate in social fan conversations surrounding artists through leadership of social media monitoring, response and reporting
Build compelling radio programming, social media and interactive experiences that build fan loyalty, drive traffic and support sales
Create and execute strategies to increase artist marketing databases (CRM)
Develop and nurture relationships with relevant partners (i.e. social media outlets, blogs, influencers, curators, etc.) to secure coverage for artists and round out overall marketing efforts
Engage with account base from an editorial and campaign driven standpoint
Oversee all contesting including coordinating prizing, partners, and design; manage all promotional programs to meet privacy policy, legal rules and regulations, and COPPA standards
Create and distribute marketing plans/reports
Analyze sales, and consumer response data to make informed programming decisions
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in performing non-linear editing on Mac platform.
Proficiency in writing short-form and long-form scripts
Proficiency in working with HD and/or 4K video
Proficiency working within Adobe Creative Cloud software with emphasis on Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop
Proficiency in encoding video/audio to QT, MP4, WMV, WAV, MP3, and similar formats.
Proficiency in exporting and compression techniques necessary for broadcast television, web, and new media outlets
Ability to operate professional broadcast-quality video cameras (HD and/or 4K.)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to prioritize work
Ability to be detail oriented and strategic depending on situation
Ability to carry equipment weighing over 40 pounds for extended periods of time.
Ability to break down a script and make it come to life through creative sound design, ability to choose and direct voiceover talent and the understanding of proper music selection
Ability to manage and complete multiple ongoing tasks in a deadline driven environment
Flawless production skills
3-5 years leading a team of individuals to produce exceptional programming that drives sales and foot traffic
Functions well in matrix environment
Prior experience with control room automation systems is a plus
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred
