Patent Attorney

This position will report directly to the head of Intellectual Property.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Managing outside patent counsel
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications
  • Reviewing invention disclosures and working with inventors to assess patentability
  • Partnering with internal clients to drive innovation
  • Facilitating patent budget and invoice management
  • Conducting infringement analyses and prior art searches

  • Proven ability to operate independently and professionally in working with others
Minimum Qualifications:
  • USPTO registered patent attorney
  • J.D. from accredited law school
  • Experience with USPTO's PAIR system
  • 3+ years of patent experience in a law firm and/or company environment with emphasis on patent preparation and prosecution
Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. in computer science or engineering
  • Technical or legal experience in cybersecurity industry
  • International patent prosecution experience
  • IP portfolio management software experience (e.g. Anaqua, CPi, CPA Global)
  • Patent litigation experience
  • E-billing software experience (e.g. Serengeti, T360)
