Position Objective

The Product Manager will be responsible for supporting product development in the Personal Auto line of business, from conceptualization through implementation. As the subject matter expert, the incumbent will use their knowledge and expertise of products and services offered and bridge any gaps of understanding among teams, including Underwriting, Claims, Sales, Actuary and other departments as needed to achieve business goals.

Job Responsibilities

Provides recommendations based on research and analysis in the following areas as related to the product: rates and pricing, implementation, marketing and sales, features and quality, services, processes and procedures, compliance, underwriting guidelines, risk management, and other topics as required or assigned
Collaborates across multiple departments to reach profitable growth targets; develops, manages, and leads initiatives and effectively communicates project updates and requested information to leadership
Identifies opportunities for growth and to integrate products with other lines of business, and evaluates challenges within the marketplace; utilizes competitive analysis to achieve profitability and growth objectives
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or other related field required
3-5 years of pricing, product management, underwriting, or actuarial experience preferred

Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships, and to communicate clearly and effectively with all individuals within all levels of an organization
Knowledge and understanding of personal lines insurance standards and practices, risk management, compliance and regulation
Familiarity with industry standards and marketplace environment, pricing, rates, and product offerings
Ability to develop, organize, and spearhead initiatives and strategies with a diverse team
Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills along with the ability to think creatively and strategically
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
