The Sr. Strategic Marketing Manager is responsible for identifying; defining and communicating Allison’s value to the markets we serve using the Customer Value Creation Process (CVCP). This individual is a critical contributor to the CVCP by developing current and new product segment strategies, value proposition design, Integrated Marketing plans and critical assumption design. This individual will also support the development of materials for the annual Regional Portfolio review. Additionally, this individual will develop, organize and facilitate value-based studies capturing Voice of Customer (VOC). This individual will interpret and use the VOC to develop the value strategy, value messaging and value sales tools, including the creation and maintenance of the Allison Advantage Calculator. The Sr. Strategic Marketing Manager will work closely with the sales organization, Growth Development teams and the Product Line Team and other members of the global marketing organization to ensure all tasks are completed successfully ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*: Responsible for developing data driven product life cycle cost and value messaging for the Americas. Lead studies as required to collect data and intelligence related to life cycle value of Allison products and competitive products. Value Sales tool development for Americas keeping Global scale in mind. Support in development of North American Marketing Plan. Including focus markets, market trends, competitive threats, strategy, tactics and measurement methods to gauge success. Support New Product positioning by creating the value messaging incorporating VOC. Conduct market research, proposal development, presentation and input gathering. Act as Marketing representative on the Competitive Intelligence Team Be the Marketing representative working with the Allison OEM Account team in new product and services development/launch. Activities to include but not limited to understanding developing the Integrated Marketing Plan, opportunity size, launch timing and customer product requirements. Be the Marketing subject matter expert on product line teams and growth initiatives Complete the Life Cycle Value Calculator launch to the sales organization including the following: tool format, timing, investment amount, IT implications and roll-out with the corporate marketing agency. Analyze attributes such as a fuel economy, total cost of ownership, productivity, residual value and intangibles to be collected and compiled to develop data based life cycle value selling messaging. Be the subject matter expert on Total Economic Value calculations. Identify positive and negative value differentiators and quantify the various value attributes to support pricing and value selling. Coordinate Capital Projects. Initiate and receive approvals for CAR’s, coordinating with finance and purchasing to secure Capital projects. Departmental budget planning and management. Manage/Track annual department expense to forecasted budget; analyze/reconcile actual monthly expenses to forecast, analyze variance to estimates, maintain tracking document-clarification of expenses, track end of month cost center accruals, forecast remaining months provide monthly time’s budget, support development of annual and 5-year budget. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Technical sales experience Exceptional MS Excel skills Effective public speaker, Effective negotiator, Strategic thinker, Effective problem solver, Critical thinker Highly productive with the ability to process multiple tasks at once Self-Starter Willingness to travel domestically REQUIRED: 7 Years’ experience Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
