National operator of college bookstores seeks a talented Customer Service Representative for our facility in Farmingdale, NY, on the border of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The qualified candidate will provide customer service to and manage the daily operations of assigned clients and vendors. Previous customer service experience is a must. Ability to multi-task, pay meticulous attention to detail and maintain an orderly work environment are necessary. Highly developed verbal, listening and problem solving skills and advanced Excel proficiency are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Speak to customers and vendors on a daily basis to handle client concerns, inquiries, claims and any other special services required.
  • Perform order entry and manifesting of telephone, email or faxed orders.
  • Format, modify and upload Excel spreadsheets containing book lists on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and authorize exceptions to policies and procedures within approved guidelines.
  • Follow-up with clients and vendors to ensure resolution and satisfaction with regard to daily operational issues.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Work extended hours during starts of new school semesters and quarterly inventories.
