Summary

About the Position:
This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour. You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.

Responsibilities
Serve as the senior specialist of the Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) system, which includes Microstation, AutoCAD and Computer Aided Engineering Tools (CAE) such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), ProjectWise, and Dr. Checks.
Provide technical leadership to the Districtt's Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Computer Aided Engineering Tools (CAE) elements by providing information and formal training on these systems to engineers and technicians.
Engage with the technical community in other Districts, Divisions, government agencies, and rural communities to identify best practices and procedures, and distributes this information accordingly.
Investigate uncommon issues and conditions that may preclude the proper use of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Computer Aided Engineering Tools (CAE) or the integration of CADD/CAE with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Manage complex databases for engineering products, training, and research of equipment and applications required for engineering design work and evaluation of the system as a whole in terms of current condition and planning for the future.

Incumbent must obtain and maintain Comp TIA Security + certification within 6 months of appointment.
Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
This is an Army Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT and L) Workforce position. The employee must meet DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in troubleshooting Computer Aided Design & Drafting CADD and Computer Aided Engineering Tools CAE; and assisting with the maintenance of computer engineering work systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing and diagnosing problems with Computer Aided Design & Drafting CADD and Computer Aided Engineering Tools CAE; troubleshooting systems; and assisting in training others on Computer Aided Design & Drafting CADD and Computer Aided Engineering Tools CAE. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
