Computercraft is seeking a
Technical Writer/Senior Communication Specialist to develop written content for one of our clients within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The mission of NIH is to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.
Responsibilities-
Develop communications pieces, including bulletins; quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports; weekly and monthly e-newsletters; presentations; brochures; and engagement stories

Compose correspondence for various audiences, including NIH and Congressional audiences, describing products, services, and outreach programs

Support training activities, including the development of training materials
-
Contribute to the development of literature reviews and manuscripts, including citation management
-
Draft social media content aimed at specific audiences
-
Write original content, ensuring clarity, completeness, accuracy, quality, and alignment with internal style
-
Support communications projects and products as well as provide technical writing and editing support for NIH documents
-
Provide communications strategy, planning, and support
Required Skills/Experience-
Bachelor’s degree
-
High proficiency with English writing, including grammar and usage
-
5 years or more in content strategy and technical writing
-
Some education in biology to understand the topics being documented
-
Ability to produce professional looking, clean documents that are perfectly tuned to the target audience (e.g., internal, external)

Expertise with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, including advanced formatting features
-
A strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn quickly
-
Effective verbal communication
Desired Skills/Experience-
Previous writing and/or content development experience at NIH
